Washington state agencies: are you ready for OneWA?

The One Washington project is accelerating.

Washington state’s financial, HR and payroll systems are being replaced. The Washington State Office of Financial Management (OFM) has selected WorkDay as the solution platform to replace AFRS and Deloitte has been chosen as the system integrator (SI) for the One Washington Project (known as “OneWA”). Implementation is scheduled to begin in November 2020 and the phased replacements will go through 2025.

OneWA is focused on using out of the box functionality, so little to no customization will be possible. Meanwhile, agency resources and budgets are being cut and spread thin due to the economic impacts of COVID-19.

Treinen can help prepare your organization

We are here and ready to help you, with experience that will make the difference in times like these.  Here are some of the areas in which we can help you tackle this major initiative.

Project Management

Minimize impacts to your agency’s mission critical work by:

  • Prioritizing, coordinating, and helping to manage multiple workstreams.

  • Working closely with OFM project staff to understand OneWA timelines, agency expectations and to report back on your agency’s status.

  • Managing critical path(s) to meet important project deadlines.

  • Identifying, tracking, escalating and resolving key dependencies, risks, and issues.

Technical and Business Requirements Analysis

Making sure your agency’s unique requirements are well documented and communicated to the OneWA project team:

  • Clearly capturing, verifying, and prioritizing your agencies unique systems and workflows to understand key outputs.

  • Performing an inventory of your system interfaces, systems of record, data needs across your agency, and reporting needs early.

  • Determining and articulating your business needs as requirements, use cases, or epics and how they fit with the out-of-the box solution will be critical to know the extent of change and impact to your agency’s business and staff.

Business Process Re-engineering

Optimizing and “LEANing” out your OneWA dependent workflows to align to out of the box WorkDay functionality:

  • Identifying, reviewing and categorizing operational processes likely impacted by OneWA.

  • Facilitating workgroups of subject matter experts to quickly identify opportunities to optimize processes.

  • Identifying and coordinating implementation strategies and action plans.

Organizational Change Management

Preparing for the change management activities and ensuring a solid integration with the OneWA OCM program effort by:

  • Making sure your organization is ready to adopt changes brought on by OneWA and the entire new way the state conducts its accounting, fiscal and procurement functions.

  • Preparing your staff for the “future state” environment and determining what help you need from the OneWA OCM program.
