Will Treinen, President and CEO

Will set out on his own in 2001 during one of the darkest economic times for our country, charting the path for what has become Treinen Associates today. He has more than 25 years of experience in policy development and program planning; project management; systems design and implementation; business process re-engineering; strategic planning; procurement and business operations.

In the office, you’ll usually find Will at someone’s desk discussing a project situation or how a consultant can help a client. He is very accessible, and clients find him easy to connect with over the phone or over coffee.

Will enjoys gardening, hiking, climbing and spending time with his family and dogs. In recent years, he’s become an avid cyclist, and participated in his first Seattle to Portland bike race in 2014. He lives in Olympia with his wife Denise.

Tim Walker

Tim Walker, Vice President of Business Development

Tim joined Treinen to lead new business as the firm looks to grow across the United States. With a proven track record working in more than 35 states and with over 30 years of experience in sales and business development, Tim brings a wealth of both commercial and government experience to the consulting services Treinen offers its clients. Working with clients across a wide spectrum of domains, Tim continues to grow the Treinen client list that includes work with Departments of Health and Human Services, Labor and Workforce, Education, Corrections, Public Safety, Transportation, and Tax and Revenue.

From 1984 through 2000, Tim held business development positions with information technology and commercial real estate companies in London, England moving his family to Denver a year after the birth of his first son in early 2001. An avid sports fan Tim lists Leeds United, the San Francisco 49ers, and Louisiana State University as three teams that have given him the most heartache over the years. He will always remember that his first live concert was Queen with Freddie Mercury at Earls Court!

Management Team

Joe Rueter, Technical Director

“A collaborative approach and establishing trust are critical to the success of any project. We use these as a foundation to understanding our clients’ needs and striving for continuous improvement as people and with technology for our clients and their customers.”

Joe has 35 years of experience in Information Technology. He has held positions ranging from Deputy Chief Information Officer to Programmer Analyst. He has served as the project manager on several major technology projects in a variety of industries including defense, federal and state government and law enforcement. His project portfolio includes experience in finance, logistics, human resources, healthcare, education, social services, workforce development and transportation.

As Technical Director at Treinen, his focus is on technical project management and helping expand the business into areas such as architecture, application development and other technically-focused specialties.

Joe and his wife live in Olympia and share their home with an extremely spoiled dog and cat.

Kim Yale

Kim Yale, Finance Director

“Communication with a focus on team building leads to successful business results that go beyond ordinary ‘Business as usual’ outcomes. Given the combined talents and expertise of our management team, working collaboratively, we can reach extraordinary accomplishments!”

Kim is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with 33 years of experience in accounting, income taxes, and fiscal management, with work for several mid-sized organizations as well as a nonprofit. She also owned and managed her own CPA firm for 13 years.

Kim is Treinen’s Finance Manager, covering every aspect of the company’s fiscal needs from invoicing to cash flow recommendations. She ensures our books are maintained following proper accounting principles, analyzing fiscal information for our management team.

She lives in Lacey with her husband. Together they have three children and eight grandchildren. Kim enjoys outdoor activities, cycling, and Jazzercise. As a teenager, she lived in Japan!

Megan Pilon, Director of Consulting Service Delivery

“At Treinen, we value teamwork and transparency and actively pursue quality service delivery to accomplish our clients’ goals.”

Megan is an expert project manager with a track record of bringing people together to deliver organizational goals. She is an innovative problem-solver who is willing to take on challenges to help organizations achieve their missions. Megan has over 29 years of Information Technology (IT) experience, including over 22 years in project management and 21 years working for Washington State.

She joined Treinen in 2014 and has loved being part of a culture that values teamwork and community. As Director at Treinen Megan’s focus is on continuing and improving upon Treinen’s excellent reputation for service delivery.

Megan and her family live in Olympia. Megan enjoys bike riding, golfing, and hanging out with her extended family, who also live in Olympia.
